Privacy Policy

Sudoku Royale is a competitive multiplayer sudoku game published by Jackrabbit Slims. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. What we collect
Account data
When you first open the app, an account is created automatically using a random device identifier. No email address or password is required. You can optionally set a username, which is displayed on the public leaderboard.
Gameplay data
We store data about your performance: Elo rating, games played, wins, losses, best scores, match accuracy, and match history (opponents, scores, timestamps). This data is tied to your device-generated account.
Push notification tokens
If you allow push notifications, we store your APNs device token on our server so we can send you game-related notifications (friend requests, match invites, lobby announcements). You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings, and the token will no longer be used.
Crash reports and diagnostics
We use Sentry (sentry.io) for crash reporting. When the app crashes, Sentry collects technical information about the crash: device model, OS version, app version, and a stack trace. Crash reports are not linked to your game account or gameplay data. On-device diagnostic logs use Apple's OSLog and are not sent to our servers.
Usage analytics
We collect anonymous usage events to improve the game: app opens, screen views, match starts, match completions, and connection errors. These events are stored on our own servers (not sent to third parties) and are tied to your device-generated account. We do not track you across other apps or websites.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your email address, real name, location, contacts, photos, financial information, or health data. We do not use advertising frameworks or cross-app tracking. We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
2. How we use your data
- To create and maintain your game account
- To calculate rankings and display the public leaderboard
- To match you with opponents and record game results
- To send push notifications about friend requests, invites, and match events
- To track anonymous usage patterns and improve the game experience
- To detect and fix crashes via Sentry
3. What is public
Your username and Elo rating appear on the public leaderboard. If you have not set a username, a default identifier is shown. No other account data is publicly visible.
4. Third parties
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers. We may share data only in the following cases:
- With our infrastructure provider (Hetzner Cloud) to host the game servers
- With Apple Push Notification service (APNs) to deliver push notifications
- With Sentry (sentry.io) for crash reporting. Sentry receives technical crash data only (device model, OS version, stack trace). No gameplay data or account information is sent to Sentry.
- When required by law or valid legal process
5. Where your data is stored
Our servers are hosted on Hetzner Cloud in Falkenstein, Germany. All game data is stored and processed in the European Union.
6. Data retention
Your account data is kept for as long as your account exists. If you request account deletion, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated statistics (like total cells solved globally) may be kept indefinitely.
7. Account deletion
You can delete your account directly in the app by going to Profile → Settings → Delete Account. You can also request deletion by emailing support@sudoku-royale.com. Deletion is immediate when done in-app, or within 30 days when requested by email. Once deleted, your gameplay history, stats, and leaderboard entries are permanently removed.
8. Children's privacy
Sudoku Royale is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, please contact us at support@sudoku-royale.com and we will delete the account.
9. Your rights
You can request at any time to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Export your data in a portable format

10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app. Continued use of Sudoku Royale after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
